Fighting The Ugly Fight In Movember 2013

You guys may think it’s November. You’re wrong!!

It’s MOvember, which means it’s time to grow out your mustache and help raise awareness of men’s health issues around the world.

That’s what I’m doing. It’s Day 7, and despite looking like a very bad 70’s adult-movie star, I’m still willing to sacrifice my lip for a month. Are you?Mo retro

Movember began in 2003 in Melbourne, Australia, and has grown from 30 Ozzie guys sporting tashes for charity, to millions of Mo Bros & Mo Sistas all around the world. In the UK alone, almost £100 Million was raised for research into such diseases as prostate cancer, so Movember really is ‘Changing The Face Of Men’s Health.’

Here’s my MO-MO-MOtivation, what’s yours?rajasthan-mustache

It’s become a truly global movement, and is consistently ranked in the top 100 NGOs in the world by the Global Journal, based on three key main criteria: impact, innovation and sustainability. There are an estimated 5 million NGOs around the world, to give some context, so that’s an amazing achievement, right?

Put bluntly, it’s an awesome cause and very easy to get involved.

And this is where you come in. One of my good friends in Korea, Gareth Mohamed, has organised a MOvember team, and I’m quite simply asking you to check out our page HERE and donate a few dollars. Once you get to the MOvember homepage, click on DONATE in the top right corner, type FC Daegu in the search bar, then search for my name, Steven Moore. Just click me to donate. Easy peasy.

And then please share this post with as many people as you can, at work, with friends, neighbors…everyone…and let’s see if we can raise more money than ever.

Thanks a lot for your support guys, and don’t forget, please share the post.

IT’S MOVEMBER! HOW MO CAN YOU GO??

NB** On a side note, despite appreciating the great cause, The Chic Adventurer Leslie does not appreciate the state of my face. Lucky for her she’s busy wiping her new born niece’s bottom back home in California. We will be reunited on December 1st, the day after MOvember finishes. Shall I keep my MO just for her? That’s up to you guys…vote YES or NO in the comments with a message, and we’ll see what happens.

Sorry love!! x

  1. I think variety is the spice of life! James used to have a big bushy beard and mustache. When he decided to shave it off while we were on vacation, he did it in stages, complete with pics. He went from Grizzly Adams, to Elvis, to just a mustache. The hilarious thing was when he went into work on Monday, his coworkers looked at him funny and said, “Oh, you grew a mustache!” 🙂 Great cause, Steve. ~Terri
