Thanks Everyone!

Lobsand and meExciting news!!

You’ll remember that a few weeks ago, I was sharing around the web an article I’d written for a competition with Padhaaro, an online travel site for India. Contestants had to submit a travel story about an experience they had while in India. My entry, “Lama Illumination,” was a write up of the time I visited the Dalai Lama at his temple in Dharamsala, and about how I spent time hanging out with Lobsang, a Tibetan monk.Lobsang and Lama

Well, guess what? I won. Yep, I came first in both categories, first the judges overall voting based on quality and originality, and second, in the social media performance of my article.

So this is a quick post to say a giant thank you to every one that took the time to read the article, leave a comment, ‘Like’ it, and share it on the web. If it wasn’t for all of your support, I could not have won. THANKS EVERYONE…WE DID IT!!

My prize is two-fold. I actually won 3,000 Indian rupees ($50) which is the first monetary reward for my writing. But far more exciting for me is that the top ten entries are set to form the content of an ebook travel guide to India. That is why I entered, and I’m delighted to have succeeded.

Once more, thanks again. It was a team effort, and we did it!! Excited_man_2

And don’t forget, guys…

    • Hey Terri.
Thanks a lot. It is exciting, but hopefully the start of bigger and better things. 2014 is going to be a big year for both of us.
Happy New Year to you both, too x
